Me and Che
It’s endlessly surprising. You never know what you will see here. I am fascinated every day by some of the gorgeously hilarious translation gaffes- I saw a big sign saying “dry cleasers “ the other day! So many surprises. I’ve been Googling editing jobs here- there must be heaps of work.
I went on a little trip up to the Peace Pagoda. The Shanti Stupa is part of a string of more than 70 built around the world to promote world peace It is 1110 metres up Anadu hill a few kilometres out of Pokhara and from up there you can see some incredible views (a bit cloudy when I was there but too bad). It seemed a small thing to do when there is clearly no peace for some at the moment.
As is usual here, a long walk up many many steep steps and fabulous sights at the top. But all the same, I never expected to come across a little cafe with a massive picture of Che Guevara sitting there. It was kind of connected to nothing - just there. Astounding!
