Dolls get high

Hello again to all our fabulous Dolly fans – hoping you are all well and enjoying life. You have been so incredibly encouraging and supportive of our little adventures and we have loved going on trips with you. Covid is over (I hope) and so it’s time for a few more adventures before it’s too late and I am permanently incarcerated in a retirement village or some other unspeakable indignity occurs.

Laura is a bit busy being a yummy mummy to our gorgeous Matilda who is bringing everyone so much joy – although perfect sleeping would be a bit more joyous! Even so, Dolly adventures are still possible. We have another doll on the team and we are going high - really high- the Himalayas in fact. Guess it doesn’t get much higher than that.

Ann Young (who has done this many times before) is going to keep me on track and away from soft sofas in tea shops, danger in dark alleys and the unwise liaisons that I seem to be so prone to. We expect to have some fun as well!!

We are flying to Kathmandu and then trekking in the Everest region for a couple of weeks. After that we will come back to Kathmandu and if we can get it to work, go up to Tibet for a look and maybe a little trek. And then (or possibly instead), we also hope to be able to get into Bhutan – which is so fascinating but quite difficult to reach. If there is any time left after all that, we may subside to the couch or we might do a bit more trekking in the Annapurna region. So – yes- it’s all very fluid. We are not in a group or on a tour or anything like that so we can figure it out as we go. This of course, assumes all will rock along according to plan - yeah right!!

At the moment – with one week to go I am experiencing my usual before I go terror –boom ! Altitude sickness – eek - apparently, they have something there called Japanese Encephalitis and every dog has got rabies - six more sleeps - whatever was I thinking!

I’m going to write a few little blogs and few little poems. I’ll post them to FB but I know lots of people are over FB so if you want to be on my email list – let me know.

Yay – exciting, terrifying, amazing and probably terribly foolhardy – too late now. I know I’m too old for this but I don’t care! L
