The Lockdown Lads

The Lockdown Lads

This is how the Making Do chairs turned out. The Lockdown boys are looking good.

I heard on the radio the other day that someone has called their newborn twins Corona and
Virus!! It has to be a silly joke but I did think of it when thinking about what
I’d call these two chubby beauties. In the end I thought they didn’t need a
name each - they could just be The Lockdown Lads.

They look great and are really comfortable. I managed to get the fabric to work for both of them but it
was a mathematical stretch for me to figure it out. These armless chairs are
really versatile, generous for big post-covid bottoms but fit in small spaces
and placed together they can make a little sofa.  Plus a bonus, my completely unrelated little
flurry the other day of making cushions out of tea towels seem to have worked
into this vibe as well. The lockdown boys are looking good.

I’ve got too many chairs in my house, so despite the fact that I like them a lot, these two
needed to move to someone else’s bubble.  I put them on my upholstery website ( upstart-upholstery.com) and sold them this afternoon but I thought that those of you who only saw picture of the first chair, might like to see how they turned out ( apologies to the people who got it twice).

So the Lockdown Lads are leaving home as soon as there is no lockdown to work around and moving to Wellington. It’s fantastic. We are all happy.

Lots of love Lesley
